Many thanks for that G.R.
Would anyone happen to know now if it was shot down? written off in an accident? or just scrapped after the war? |

Islander,
If you have a picture, please post it here so we can study it and provide you eventually with an answer. Regards, John |

Yes indeed, WNr.621215 is one that hasn't made it onto the LEMB Ju88G-6 Database, so more info would be very much appreciated...

Re: Luftwaffe a/c ID Wr.621215 1944 or 45
Hi John/Peter,
I do have a photo it is of my friends Grandfather and another soldier in Holland stood next to the tail section, but I`m afraid apart from the swastika and the tail number it gives nothing else away, nothing in the background certainly. Will have to put the photo in photobucket and post. Regards Dave |

It's not a known case. As far as we known this plane has not been left at a Dutch airfield or has it made a crashlanding at Dutch territory. Maybe it helps when you could give more details about the unit the soldiers were in? Jaap |

Re: Luftwaffe a/c ID Wr.621215 1944 or 45
Thank Guys, John/Peter/Peter/Ed & Jaap
For all yourt help with this one, got some more good news there may be two more photos, one with my friends grandfather James Shearer (Tall soldier on the left) at the controls in the cockpit, and maybe a photo of the whole aircraft on the ground. I have asked my friend William to ask his Grandfather who is now in his 90s, what army unit he was in and if he can recall the names of any towns or villages nearby. Once I have more which will be later next week, I will post details and any photos on here. Regards Dave. |
