Luftwaffe matches with n°130 and 91 squadron

Hi,

On 28 february 1943, n°130 squadron gave close escort of Whirlwind during their return from Cherbourg-Maupertus. F/O Andrieux claimed a Fw190 confirmed by F/sgt Eid (Belgian) who had seen a big splash in this aera at 15:45.

Is there a Luftwaffe match for this claim ?

On 7 january 1944, n° 91 squadron gave escort of Mosquito (14:40 -16:20) when they attacked Embray. F/O Andrieux claimed a FW 190 20 miles east of Berck-sur-Mer. All the n°91 sqdn saw this attack and confirmed the 190.

Does anybody have a Luftwaffe match for this claim ?

TIA

Bertrand

Not JG 2 and the JG 26 losses for 7 Jan 44 do not match time-wise

Thanks John & Chris. I had checked in Tony Wood list but nothing. For the claim of feb 1943 I hope to find details in the JFS 10/IV !

Re: Luftwaffe matches with n°130 and 91 squadron

Thanks Zorglub for these possible losses against Andrieux’s shots. I have not my JG26 war diary where I am for reading what it is written but does these info come from the last Prien ?

These three losses are in the aera of Berck and Kurt Vafgen seems to be the more closest of Berck-sur-MEr.

Salut Bertrand ,

Yes it was Vavgen . In " Le Ciel Et l'Enfer " Andrieux claims his victim near Montreuil that day.
