Hauptmann Gotthold Schneck IV./JG 4

Hello,

can somebody shed me light on this former Transportflieger in IV./JG 4 where he should be appointed Staffelkapitän? He was Staffelkapitän 1./TGr. 30 when he should be transferred to some fighter school and then to IV./JG 4. Is known if he achieved some victory?

Thanks for help

Re: Hauptmann Gotthold Schneck IV./JG 4

A search of our files reveals only:

SCHNECK, Gotthold.
(DOB: 03.12.12 in Magdeburg).
01.04.43 promo to Hptm. (Kr.O.).
1943 Staka 1./TGr. 30.
11.44 in Stab/EJG 1.
1945 Hptm. and Staka 2./JG 4.

A check of the Tony Woods lists has revealed no claims.

We hope that this clarifies the situation.

Hi

JG4's claims seem complete on the Micro Films until the end of December 1944, he has nothing upto then, however migt have claimed in 1945, but unlikely.

Oblt. Werner Gerhartz, Staffelführer of 2./JG 4 belly landed in Russian-held territory near Posen on 18 Feb 45. According to the JG 4 history Schneck was his replacement..
