From a USA crash site?
We are searchinf for a crash site of a USA aircraft crashed in mountains south Italy 31 july 1944. It transport 19 men to Normandy area. I'm not sure these objects are from aircraft but I will return in the place for more research. If these are fragments from aircraft I will be sure we find correct place.....

The report you quoted have at end a place. It is the airport where aircraft started? I think aircraft came from sout east Italy so the airport can be Celone, Manduria, Lecce, Lucera. The aircraft have 19 men on direct to Normandy. In the crash some men dies and some other dies in days after. Some survived. We are sure about the date stated on a book. Do you can find some other information? Thanks again! |

Re: From a USA crash site?
Salerno (name?)
You need to check these crashes on these databases: http://www.aviationarchaeology.com/src/db.asp and you should be able to order a PDF copy of the crash reports from the http://www.airforcehistory.hq.af.mil/contact.htm Dennis |
