Pilots of Jagdgruppe Süd and Jagdgruppe 200

Hi,

as already mentioned in another thread, Klaus Fischer and i have collected some information about Jagdgruppe Süd and Jagdgruppe 200 pilots since several years. Finally it is very hard to estimate the number and collect all of the pilots serving in this unit for a certain time. But we have meanwhile merged from different sources more or less information about 520 pilots. I published a recent overwiew with the pilot names on my website:

Is "Eichele, Robert" the same as Ofhr. Robert Heichele of 2./NAG 13, severely injured on 16 August 1944 (and who later died)?

My cousin Siegfried Baer with 2./Jagdgruppe Süd from July 30, 1944

transferred to II./JG 301 October 1944, gefallen November 26, 1944, his second mission.

It is possible, he appeared on a list on a list of another researcher in coherence with JGr. 200. I'm not sure too, if this is a confusion with the unit.

So I will add the 2 new names to my list. If somebody needs detailed information about one of the mentioned pilots, please let me know. For some of them, we have so some background information.

It would be better if you post the list here as an excel file or word file. Than it's easier to check. Do you mean with this list that all the pilots who went through JGr Süd for training are included also?

Hi guys

I noticed that Hauptmann Helmut Mertens is listed as having served as Gruppenkommandeur of JGr Süd in the list that Lino has created and kindly shared with us. This information is also included in Obermaier which states that he was appointed to this position in September 1944 and later served with III./EJG 1 presumably as Gruppenkommandeur. However, on http://www.ww2.dk/air/jagd/jgrsud.htm nor on http://www.ww2.dk/air/jagd/ejg1.htm do I see him listed as Gruppenkommandeur of either unit. Any thoughts?
