He 113 "in the Battle of Britain"
Having seen this on another forum I thought I would post here for a wider audience:
http://www.whsmith.co.uk/CatalogAndS...=9781907791024 Certainly they feature in more than a good many Combat Reports of RAF fighter pilots in 1940. But.............!! Perhaps one should reserve further comment until seeing the goods. |

Re: He 113 "in the Battle of Britain"
Must be a very thin book... Maybe he describes how a plane that was not in action was seen and described by RAF pilots. I remember seeing in a friend´s house, a Brazilian wartime paper with an article about this new German fighter entering combat in England. At last the propaganda guys did a great job!

Re: He 113 "in the Battle of Britain"
64 A-5 (ish) pages ...a number of which contain page-sized portraits of various 'personalities'..Dowding, Goebbels etc.. Chapter 3 discusses a report in Der Adler ( issue 10/40 IIRC) describing the type's deployment in the Norwegian campaign ! Mr Matthews self-publishes 'ghost' stories apparently..(no, seriously..)

Re: He 113 "in the Battle of Britain"
I now realise I have seen one of his books - something like Sussex Heroes of The Battle of Britain?
If that was anything to go by....well....I won't be ordering any time soon! |
