Re: 10 Bizarre Churchill Facts!
11. Churchill the Fool
Churchill's Praise of Comrade Stalin: Winston Churchill had nothing but praise for his partner in crime, Josef Stalin who was described as the paragon of virtue, wisdom and greatness. Here are a few samples of the adoration Churchill had for his comrade and partner: Churchill: "I like him the more I see him." Churchill: "The new confidence which has grown in our hearts toward Stalin." Churchill: "We regard Marshal Stalin's life as most precious to the hopes and hearts of all of us." Churchill: "I walk through this world with greater courage and hope when I find myself in a relation of friendship and intamacy with this great man." Churchill: " I know of no Government which stands to its obligations, even in its own despite, more solidly than the Russian Soviet Government."

Re: 10 Bizarre Churchill Facts!
"Sylvester",
Your adoption of the name of a Nazi general and the motto of an organisation whose stock in trade was the mass murder of defenceless people rather undermines any hopes you may have of being taken seriously, I feel. |

Re: 10 Bizarre Churchill Facts!
Those Churchill quotes were taken from speeches in the House of Commons after Germany went to war with Russia. Obviously just politics. At the same time, Churchill told a personal aide "If the Devil went to war with Germany, I would be obliged to say a few kind words on his behalf in the House".

Re: 10 Bizarre Churchill Facts!
Quote:
It is arguable that German civilians were defenceless against bombing — they were certainly defended. The people the SS dedicated itself to slaughtering had no fighters, Flak or armies to protect them for they had already been conquered. |

Re: 10 Bizarre Churchill Facts!
Just to clarify things, both Sylvester and Jukka have been banned from the board for 6 months.
This board is not here to discuss personal, philosophical or political agendas, or, unsubstaniated rants about events or people. If someone wants to rant about Churchill or anything else, go set up your own board--they're cheap. Neither does anyone have a right to be a member of this board. It is a privilege. Treat it as such. |
