So did this Ar 196A-3 have 2 Fixed Forward Firing 20mm MG FF cannon on Wings, One Fixed Forward Firing 7.92 mm Machine Guns (MG 17) Gun Port Side. & Two 7.92 mm Trainable Machine Guns in the rare cockpit (MG 81Z Flexable Machine Guns ?) and Provision Of 2 50 KG bombs under the wings ? Thanks & Regards Sujoy http://books.google.co.in/books?id=M...6%20A-3&f=true |

As per an other reference book this is what was mentioned :-
Ar196A-1: Available Aug-39. Seaplane carried by Kreigsmarine capital ships as local recon aircraft. Fixed gear (pontoons).Armed with One 1 x 7.92mm MG15 m and single 1x 7.62mm MG17 m only (use 7.92mm MG15 m for air or strafing combat). Stressed for catapult use. 26 built. Ar196A-3: Available 1940. Used from land bases as well as from ships. Adds One 20mm MG FF cannon on each wing, and twin MG17 mgs (2 x 7.62mm MG17 mg). Used for coastal patrol, attacks vs subs and light marine craft in the Med in ‘41, against Coastal Command Whitleys in the Channel, and for convoy escort. Armed 10 shore-based squadrons. Fixed gear (pontoons). 460 built So now the Arado 196 with the following "BB+YF" markings on Cruiser Tirpitz in 1941 a type A-3 and then which Armament configuration did She carry ?
