237 Sqdn a/c confirmation please.
Hello,
Please can anyone confirm the serial numbers and pilots of the following - 24th April 1945 Sgt (Pilot) J. K. Allan Spitfire LF IX MK251 25th April 1945 F/O. N. B. Mansell Spitfire LF IX PT624 Both pilots were killed. Many thanks for any help. Alex |

Hi alex, i have these notes about Mansell:
Mansell, Neville Brighton. Son of George Frederick Laurence Mansell and Doris Violet Mansell, of Salisbury, Southern Rhodesia. Born 05.03.1922 29.07.1944: commissioned, RAFVR (General Duties Branch) [emergency commission] 25.04.1945: pilot, 237 (Rhodesia) Squadron RAF (shot down by flak) Do you know where he was shot down? |

Hello Micky,
According to the AB serials book PA100- RZ999. MK251 - Presumed shot down by flak near Milan. PT624 - Hit house attacking MT and overturned. So I assume they were lost in the same combat area. Alex |

J K Allan was shot down in Trecella (Milan) where is buried now, Mansell was shot down in Lodi city
