Ju52/3m 5844 III/KGzbV.1 lost 29/10/41

Hi guys

I understand that three members of the crew were wounded/injured when the aircraft ditched. Has anyone the names of the airmen concerned, please?

Cheers
Brian

Guys

I hate loose ends. Brian states 29 October while Matti answers with 20 October. Which date is correct?
What kind of enemy fighter interception are we talking about? Nothing in Fighters over the Desert....

Cheers

My info is from NVM and it must be correct because this loss was reported by GQM already 1941-10-24.

Maybe this one :

Christopher Shores and Brian Cull with Nicola Malizia Malta : The Hurricane Years, 1940-41. Page 314
20/10/41 : Plt.Off. H.J. Smaile in a Maryland engaged 2 Ju52/3m from III/KGzbV.1 off the Sicilian coast, heavily damaging one ( and wounding three of the crew ) which crash-landed later.
