I hope someone can provide exact informaton about President Roosevelt´s and PM Churchill´s visits to Russia during WW II (dates, flight routes and aircraft codes),

PM Churchill attented the Moscow conferences 12-17 Aug 1942 and 9-19 Oct 1944, and of course Yalta in Feb 1945.

Churchill went to Yalta in his personal DC-4/C-54 Skymaster (EW999) via Malta.

The 1942 visit in Liberator ("Commando") AL504, a modified B-24.

The 1944 visit with an Avro York.

Roosevelt was only at the Yalta Conference and flew in VC-54C "Sacred Cow" from Malta to Saki on the Crimea. He had cossed the Atlantic on the cruiser USS Quincy.
The return trip was from Saki to Deservoir Field in Egypt, and then on to the USS Quincy.

Sacred Cow had serial 42-107451, but on the Yalta flight the fake number 42-72252 was apllied "to confuse the enemy". This latter serial was of a C-54A lost on 11 Nov 1944 near Oahu.

Hello Carl,

On 23 September (1944), all three Yorks at Northolt were transferred to the Metropolitan Communications Squadron for administrative purposes, though operationally under the direct control of HQ Transport Command. Responsibility for the conduct of flights remained with W/C E G Fraser, AFC (Captain of LV633, 'Ascalon'). and on 5 October he was summoned to the Cabinet Office to be told that the Prime Minister was to fly to Moscow via Cairo, the complete VIP Flight and other aircraft from 511 Squadron, Lyneham, being put on standby - including MW104, a 24-seat first class passenger variant of the York. 'Ascalon'(York LV633), overflew France at night en route to Naples where a conference was held with General Alexander before the Prime Minister flew on to Cairo. Here a heavy landing resulted in a leaking oleo and Mr Churchill had to change to (York) MW100 for the 13-hour flight to Moscow Central on 8 October. The talks with Stalin were completed on 20 October, the Prime Mininster leaving aboard the repaired LV633 for the return via Sarabuz (Crimea) and Cairo, overflying France in daylight. It was his last flight aboard 'Ascalon', though it was one of many Yorks which went to Saki for the Yalta Conference between Churchill, Eisenhower [sic] and Stalin.
