Exact position of Generalleutnant (Dipl. Ing) Gerhard Conrad in May, 1944

Gentlemen,

I just found a Hungarian award citation from May, 1944 which states, that the particular aviator (a bomber observer) received a congratulatory telegram from "Gen. Leutnant Conrad, VIII. Fliegerkorps".
It must be, of course Generalleutnant Dipl. Ing. Gerhard Conrad, but according to my knowledge, at this time he served directly in the staff of Luftflotte 4, not in its subordinated VIII. Fliegerkorps.

Anyone knows his exact position at this time?

TIA,

Hi Doug,

Thank you. I guess, it was just a typo (quite common in such materials, unfortunately) since I have never met with any materials, which tied him to the staff of VIII. Fliegerkorps, either.
