That one and others elsewhere. Many comments about that machine, here in TOCH and in LEMB for exemple.

Cheers, Franck.

I understand your frustration, Larry. However, please remember that there are those that have never heard of this site. Second, my best friend has gone to auctions at Sotheby's and Christies only to see a man arguing with the auctioneer after a professional collector of artwork told him, after the sale, that the background in the vintage animation cel he won was not original. And thousands of dollars were involved. I am currently researching the value of similar artwork for my friend, and even a certain gallery does not state if its backgrounds are original, reproduction, photo-litho, laser or other.

All it takes is a little homework, but some will not go through the trouble. No need to raise your blood pressure. Perhaps someone should contact the seller.

Ed,

Actually my blood pressure didn't go up, I was being flippant. I well know the capabilities of photoshop and other programs, and it's just part of the environment we live in. Caveat emptor. That said, the availability of such large amounts of photography over the internet today is a great benefit to those researchers who are able to make use of it. I wouldn't have it any other way.

Regards,

Photos of this HA-1109 KIL make regular visits to both www.ebay.de and www.ebay.com and the example pictured was later rebuilt to Bf109G-2 standard and can now be found on display at the Luftwaffen Museum Gatow. More details on the FlyPast forum from March last year can be found on this thread

Shouldn't that be rebuilt to represent a G-2 as still has its H-S engine?

The HA-1109-K1L (note the 'one', not 'eye') was based on the G-2 using the Hispano-Suiza 12Z-17 for power.
