I just received the book yesterday. I flicked through it, and it's a typical Classic Publ. work, high quality, but in my opinion not reaching the level of Hs 129 Panzerjäger! by Martin Pegg, for example. More, later on.

Any book dealing with the Ju 87 is a must have as far as I'm concerned. I'll buy it!

I have browsed through a copy. Denes's description is very spot on, i.e. the book is very similar to other Classic books by Creek & Smith duo, though this one has the name of Creek on the cover only.

Now, any potential buyer read the following with the caveat that I am mostly interested in technical and handling aspects of the aircraft and little interested in combat chronicling!

To me the book is a slight disappointment. E.g. it does not have any performance analysis, no performance curves, no real battle damage resistance analysis and so on. There are no reproductions of test reports (Eric Brown's reminiscences don't count as one). While there a numerous detail photos, most of them are on the early models while the D-series gets a much lesser treatment. There are manual drawings, but there is e.g. no bombload vs. range comparison. There is no detailed comparative technical and performance analysis of the Ju 87 vs. other dive bombers. And quite oddly, given that Ju 87´s structural strength was great, but I could not find any mention on the actual g limits and ultimate strength factors.

In short, compared to e.g. Chris Vernaleken's Ju 388 or Petrick et al's book on the Bf/Me 110/210/410 books, this book is seriously lacking. In comparing dive bomber type monographs, e.g. Peter C. Smith's book on the Vultee Vengeance is superior in its concept.

The book is a disaster and full of mistakes.

One would be inclined to think that the Ju 87 would deserve a properly thorough and properly researched book by now...

Perhaps it would have to be a co-operative effort so that each author could concentrate of his particular core expertize?

It is a matter of time. Cooperation? With Mr Creek or Mr Smith? I know only two people who could write a comprehensive book on the late Junkers aircraft (86/87/88/188 usw.). Both live within the borders of Germany.

One should have the necessary background knowledge to German aviation history. One should be able to write German names and places correctly. I miss both in the most books of Anglo-American authors.
