Was the ER-4 Droppable?

Below is a picture of what I have seen identified in various sources as an ER-4 bomb adapter, which was used in conjunction with the ETC 501 on the Fw 190A (among others) to carry a load of four SC 50 bombs (source of picture should be obvious.) My question is, once the four bombs had been dropped, was it possible for the pilot to drop the ER-4 adapter?

Also, I have seen a similar adapter, but with a much rounder shape, which has also been identified as an ER-4. Was the designation "ER-4" a generic one for any similar carrier, or how did that work?

Thanks in advance.

Paul

Re: Was the ER-4 Droppable?

According to a Bf 110E manual it was possible to drop them via emergency manual release mechanism.
