Auster pilot Harvey - Bodenplatte

Several websites mention (or copy from each other) an Auster pilot Harvey who reportedly was shot down on 1 Jan 45 in Operation Bodenplatte. His unit was A.D.L.S. (Air-Despatch Letter Service) Flight, it says. The pilot was not injured.

Have Harvey and/or his Auster ever been further identified? If so,where did it all happen?
JG53 is also mentioned in the story as the opposing side.

Thanks for any info.

Regards,

Leendert

Re: Auster pilot Harvey - Bodenplatte

Received word on rafcommands that F/O Harvey's Auster was shot up at an airstrip at Bourg Leopold (now better known as Leopoldsburg) in NE Belgium.
He was indeed of ADSL Flight.

Still looking for possible serial of Auster and also first name or initial of Harvey.
The Auster production list gives several a/c destroyed on 1.1.45 by the air raid, but no immediate link to Harvey's one.

Leendert
