Pilots of No.615 Squadron .
Can anybody please help me with details and photos of the following two pilots from No.615 Squadron . F/O Rene Mouchotte and Sgt. Hamilton . These two pilots attacked a JU88 off the southwest coast of England on 26 August , 1941 . The JU88 later crash landed in Ireland and the crew were interned .
I would be grateful for any help . |

Re: Pilots of No.615 Squadron .
Hello,
Sgt Hamilton = AUS404076 Sgt Ronald Martin HAMILTON RAAF. Failed to return from 'Roadstead' off Blankenburge in No.615 Sqn Hurricane IIB BD831, on 18 September, 1941. P/O Hamilton was posted as Missing, and is commemorated on the Runnymede Memorial. Col. |

Re: Pilots of No.615 Squadron .
Schellmeyer,
The book of Mouchotte (The Mouchotte Diaries) is good and written in a more "human" way than most of War Diaries I have read. You won't be disappointed (although it lacks on the Photographs field). Nº615 Squadron do deserve a good account/book...by the way. Yours, Adriano Baumgartner |

Re: Pilots of No.615 Squadron .
Quote:
A very interesting thread, F/O Mouchotte and Sgt Hamilton both list in their combat reports that the interception took place 40 miles north of Pembroke Dock. Lt. Ludwig Stockbaur always maintained that the credit for their eventual force landing should have gone to the Ack Ack Boys during their mission. Would anyone have Sgt Hamilton's aircraft individual id letter for his aircraft please.? regards Tony K |
