Hi!

Which the name and rank of the Bordfünker of Hauptmann Ernst-Wilhelm Modrow, while he flew the He-219A-0/R6, coded G9+FK, from 2./NJG 1 in April 1944?

Hi Franklin

I know one of his Bordfunker was Feldwebel Alfred Staffa.

Alfred Staffa was the only one that ejected 3 !! times with the Heinkel aircompressed ejection Seat.

At 01.02.1945 both ejected from a HE 219 A-0/RG, Werknummer 190210. I do not have the code, but the unit was II./NJG 1. Code must be 9G +
They got shot down by a night Intruder near Honnef ( near Cologne ).

Greetings

Hi,

According to Martin Bowman, "German Night Fighters versus Bomber Command 1943-1945", Fw Staffa was Lt Otto Heinrich Fries regular bordfunker.

Franklin

I have a copy of the FB of a Fw. Erich Schneider who flew as Bf to Modrow at times, amongst other pilots. I made note of Schneider's connection to Modrow with his entry in my FB list. Unfortunately I haven't scanned it yet, so its somewhere in one of my overly large stacks of paper. Any scanned FB I can find in minutes. (I have my collection all listed in a db file to be able to, at least nominally, keep track of what and where they are.)

Hi, Jim,

Would Fw. Erich Schneider have been Modrow's Bf in April 1944?

Modrow flew to Brazil, where I live, by Lufthansa, in 1939.
