Luftwaffe aircraft propeller??
Hi guys,
some years ago I bought this heavy damaged propeller...the seller told me it cames from a german bomber shut down in Normandy during the D-day...ok I know it's a beautiful story but probably too much too be true!! BTW the propeller (or what it's remain) it's in wood with a metal base, there are some code on it, probably the serial number...and a simbol that means it was a 3-props engine ( or I think so...) Do you have some idea?? What kind of airplane can be? Can be identificated? I found out it is very similar to a Ju-88 prop but some has metal blades, other wood blades...I don't know Thanks for any help Davide |

Re: Luftwaffe aircraft propeller??
Hi there Drago,
Just back from a trip I catch up with your question. though I'm by no means a specialist in German propellers, my guess would go towards a Jumo 213 equipped plane; thus either a Ju 88 G-6 or a Fw 190 D-9. I hope other more knowledgeable forum visitors will be able to help you out with the numbers your pictures do show... Cheers Marc |

Re: Luftwaffe aircraft propeller??
At the bottom of the page linked below is an image of a D9 prop under going restoration for Luftwaffenmuseum at Berlin. The stamping is very similar, although it appears to be metal.

At the base (on the botton wood) I can only read a numerical code that seems 604 or at least finish with 04 Can be useful? |
