Help with CASU?

Not sure if this is the right place for this. I'm trying to understand my grandfather's role in WWII. He was a welder, and worked on planes. He was with the US Navy from April 1, 1944 until Feb 19, 1946 - his rank at discharge was Aviation Metalsmith, Third Class.

On his discharge papers, it lists he served on:

NRS NEWARK NJ
NTS BAINBRIDE MD
NATTC NORMAN OKLA
ABATU QUONSET POINT RI
CASU 21 FFT CASU 67
PSC LIDO BEACH LI NY

Bainbridge, MD was 5 weeks of basic training.
Norman, OK was 21 weeks of aviation metalsmith schooling.
I think in Nov. 1944 he then went to Quonset Point, RI, and in early 1945 he went to Edenton, NC. But my grandmother also thought he went to Louisiana to work on aircraft carriers.

So what I'm trying to figure out/confirm is what he did after training/schooling. And I think that's the line:

CASU 21 FFT CASU 67

So, he would have worked as a Carrier Aircraft Services Unit (CASU) on a training frigate, maintaining carrier-type aircraft?

I found this much through google searches (which I think is right?):
CASU 21 was based in Norfolk, Virginia, and CASU 67 was based in Edenton, North Carolina.

CASU 67 was commissioned as a 180-plane CASU at NAS, Norfolk, consisting of USS Prince William and escorts USS Greer, Lea, and Ellis. In late 1944, USS Prince William qualified pilots in the Narragansett Bay area, off of Rhode Island.

I'm just wondering if someone could point me in the direction of figuring out about CASU 67 and CASU 21.
