20th FG 28.09.1944 - Luftwaffe and Allied Air Forces Discussion Forum

The 20th FG encountered large enemy fighter formations on this date at 1140-1200. S of Magdeburg. Does anyone know which LW units were involved and what were their casualties?

Hi Keith,

in this area for this day (sorry no time) I have:

IV./JG 3 7 FW 190 (6 = 100%, 1 = damaged, 6 combat losses) 5 KIA

I./JG 4 4 Bf 109 (2 = 100%, 2 = damaged, 1 combatloss) 1 KIA

II./JG 4 14 FW 190 (10 = 100%, 4 = damaged, 13 combatlosses) 5 KIA 4 WIA

I./JG 300 14 Bf 109 ( 7 = 100% 4 = 60% 3 damaged, 9 combatlosses) 3 KIA 4 WIA

II./JG 300 5 FW 190 (4 = 100% 1 = 60%, 4 combatlosses) 2 KIA 1 WIA

JG 400 1 Me 163 100% combat 1 WIA

Ron Mackay's "20th FG" has Fiebelkorn claiming his last two of the day, a Bf 109 & a Fw 190, in the pattern of Köthen airfield.
