Oberleutnant Karl Haberland
Hello
Oberleutnant Karl Haberland (12 victories), Staffelkapitän of 2./JG 2, was killed in aerial combat with B-17 four-engined bombers over Aix on 27 January 1944. Would anyone have the usual loss list information for his fighter on that fateful day? Many thanks. Horrido! Leo

Absturz nach Luftkampf mit B-17. Bruch 100 %. Flugzeugführer Olt Haberland, Karl, + Oblt Haberland mit Fallschirm abgesprungen aber der Schirm öffnete nicht. Grab: Dagneux/Frankreich, Block 26, Grab 442 Matti

Many thanks for your help. Interestingly, it now appears that his total number of claims was not 12 but rather either nine or five, depending if the four claims he recorded with 1./JG 3 during the French campaign are included or not. Horrido! Leo
