B-17G Fortress Serial number

Hello,

There is a possibility to find the full serial number of a B-17G with these excerpts taken from the war diary of a tail gunner?

Ship #538

February 7, 1944 - Left continental United States flying a B-17G and arrived at Goose Bay Labrador the same day after 8 hour flight.

February 9, 1944 – Left Goose Bay for England and arrived at Stornoway Scotland the same day. Stayed at Stornoway overnight and took off (February 10, 1944) for Prestwick Scotland. We lost our ship there.

February 11, 1944 – Left Prestwick by train…

All the best,
Frederic
