Re: Ju52 NO+JJ/IJ/II

NO+IJ was 2977 and was destroyed in Feb 1943. Therefore, the following might be your plane NO+II:
1941-04-22, Fl.Kp./Ln.-Rgt. 38, Ju 52/3m, 2976, Westlich Kumanowo, Absturz bei Notlandung. Bruch 100 %.
Flugzeugführer Uffz Dahlmann, Herbert, +
Bordfunker Uffz Vogt, Wilhelm, +
Bordmechaniker Fw Sobotta, Franz, +
Fluggast Tech.Ob.Insp. Dorsch, Wilhelm, +
? Gefr Sobotta, Franz

Re: Ju52 NO+JJ/IJ/II

I thought also to that one , but I was a bit puzzled because 297x serie was in my mind made of planes built before sept. 1939, but in fact they were from Oct.40, so the right STKZ is NO+II, many planes in the NN+ nd to a lower extend NO+ were used by the Ln.Rgt, wonder if a special serie was made for the Ln boys...
To add also that the NO+IJ hv been interned in Schweden in 1941, but dont know the exact period ...

Remi

WNr 2977 NO+IJ was a Courier aircraft which force landed in Sweden 24 Feb 1943 at Lekvattnet near Torsby in Värmland (county). The pilot Ofw Lothar Gall made a very credible landing in the small clearing but the aircraft was of course damaged. After dismantling it was taken to Torsby and probably stored there for quite awhile. Torsby incidentally is the place where the Swedish football couch Sven Göran Eriksson grew up....
It was finally taken to Västerås and scrapped in October 1949.

Cheers
Stig

Re: Ju52 NO+JJ/IJ/II

Probably IJ, made a forced-landing sooner, as a "civil"plane, flying from Norway to Finnland , with weapons nd Wehrmacht members

Re: Ju52 NO+JJ/IJ/II

Well Remi, then you know more than the researchers of all these incidents in Sweden during WW 2. Nothing is impossible, and of course if they were on a registered trip (civil that is), there would probably not be any record of that.
But interened? Not very likely since there then would be some documentation preserved.

How come you are so certain it went down in Sweden in 1941 and was sent back?

Cheers
Stig

Re: Ju52 NO+JJ/IJ/II

Hi Remi

WNr.2977 seems to be "repaired" with parts from WNr.1330 This info comes from this site or/and the LEMB.
