Kurland 8th.May 1945
I read that on this day 30+ Ju52s and 4 He111s returning to Norway from the Kurland pocket carrying wounded were shot down by Russian fighters. Is there any confirmation of these losses and if so was anyone rescued ? The Norway site shows 24 Ju52s of TG20 at Fornebu and Kjevik on 10th May, would any losses on the 8th. have come from this unit ? The only loss to TG20 on the 8th, that I could find online, was on the Flyvrak site for 7U+OK crashed south of Trondheim flown by three drunken Lutwaffe men hoping to get to Sweden. I have seen the Torpedos Los book which shows 40 aircraft of KG26 flying with crew of just Ff and Bf to the Kurland pocket, with mention of an aircraft attacked by a fighter.

Re: Kurland 8th.May 1945
Knut, thanks for clearing this up, I was a little suprised that I could not find anything on this on the web, and that TGr20 still had 26 aircraft in Norway on the 10th if they had lost 30+ on the 8th,
