Crashes Bf 109G-6 WNr 15608 and 15698
Prien lists in JFV 10/II WNr 15608 as 100% loss with III./JG 1 on 4th July 1943 due to engine damage near Makkum, Netherlands. The same day WNr 15698 is listed as complete loss during an emergency landing due to technical failures at Zurich, Netherlands.
Is it possible those listings describe the same a/c, especially because I have WNr 15698 as 100% loss with 7./JG 52 on 9th August 1943 at the Eastern Front. Zurich and Makkum lie only 5 km apart. You all know my doubts concerning typed digits "8" and "0" on the 3rd carbon copy or whatsoever - either a hole in the thin sheet of paper or a fat, black dot... Regards Roland |

Prien lists in Vol 12/II for the date 9.8.1943 and 7./JG 52 WNr 15688. The plot thickens... ![]() Cheers Stig |

Re: Crashes Bf 109G-6 WNr 15608 and 15698
The summary of Luftwaffe losses has two losses for III./JG 1 on 4 July 1943, one "Destroyed without enemy action on non-operational flight" (reported on the 8th) and one "Destroyed without enemy action on operational flight" (reported on the 9th).

Re: Crashes Bf 109G-6 WNr 15608 and 15698
I have WNr 15698 listed as being lost with Uffz Friedrich Graff from 7./JG 52 at the controls, hit by Flak at Planquadrat 51861. If this one is in fact WNr 15688 the two other losses from 04.July 43 would turn out as two different losses, indeed. Thx in advance -
