29/09/1944 340 Squadron Spitfire crash near Antwerp
Hi,
On 29/09/1944 pm 11 Spitfires of 340 Sqadron made a mission in the Nijmegen-Arnem area. The orb of the squadron (AIR 27/1737) mentions that one aircraft is believed to have been hit and to have crash landed near Antwerp. The pilot has since returned to his unit and confirmed this. No other details are mentioned. Is any additional information (sa the serial of the plane) known ? Many thanks and best regards Luc |

Luc,
It is GW-L, PT939, crash-landed following Flak. Pilot is Claude Rosa. I have not the precise place "in a field and a/c repaired" Bertrand |
