Luftwaffe operations in France 15.06.1944

Hi, guys.

Has anyone got information on which units (Bf 109 or FW 190 fighters or FW 190 equipped fighter-bombers) that were operating in the early hours of June 15th 1944 in the area around Evreux where parts of JG 3 was stationed with Bf 109´s?

Regards,
Andreas B

Hi Andreas,
I don't know if you know this very useful site:
http://www.wwii-photos-maps.com/
it has a summary of LW ops. in June 1944, under German situation maps/Miscellaneous:
http://www.wwii-photos-maps.com/misc...situationmaps/
may be useful for background information.

Re: Luftwaffe operations in France 15.06.1944

Hi Andreas,

To confirm what Brian wrote, a I./S.K.G. 10 pilot took off from Tours-W at 03:34 on 15 June 1944 to fly a mission against ships north of Isigny, returning to base at 05:12.

PS - am burning the DVD with the files as I type this.

Cheers,
Andrew A.

Hi, all

Thanks for all your help.

Currently at the Aviation Literature Seminar at Gardermoen, maybe a future arena for a meet up. All welcome of course, Norsk Luftfartsmuseum is the sponsor and organizer.

Regars, Andreas B
