Re: Ju 88 picture

Looks to me to be a Ju 88 A-4 LT (note fairing for torpedo controls on right forward fuselage) belonging to KG 28. This image has been in circulation for a while.

Best Regards,

Artie Bob

Re: Ju 88 picture

Hi,

It looks more like be Ju 88 A-14 LT of III/KG 26 to me.
Many of III/KG 26 were lost with code 1T+xx and none with KG 28
(because that unit had long since been redesignated III/KG 26 when deployed to Norway and the MED)
Note: White fuselage band and Yellow bottom of cowlings.

http://www.ww2.dk/oob/bestand/kampf/biiikg26.html

Note on III/KG 26 list they only separate them in 11.43, long after many of them of 0880144xxx series were lost with III/KG 26, and many had also 1T+xx codes (but only one IIRC actually reported as an A-14). Maybe Artie Bob did not know of this version?

Best regards
Ed

PS I had compiled more detailed post but program refused post that.

Re: Ju 88 picture

Hello Ed,

So what I thought was an A-4 lower gondola is an illusion. I must admit, however, that I wasn't certain.

Re: Ju 88 picture

This one has lower-rear gun position (Gondola), its only painted dark on the side;
many A-4 and A-14 had this dark painted, but many A-17´s had Gondola removed.

Best, Ed
