Bf109G-4 WNr 19344 (II./JG52) Anapa 1.May.43

Hello,

at night 30.Apr./1.May.43 Soviet destroyer "Nezamozhnik" and the escort ship "Storm" has shelled the Anapa airfield.

According to GQM return, Bf109 WNr 19344 (II./JG52) was damaged (30%). But according to German Admiral of Black Sea war diary, the plane was destroyed [zerstört].

Whether the WNr 19344 was appearing in the sources after 1.May.43?

Regards,
Andrey

Per the Thomas Hitchcock's "Messerschmitt "O-Nine" Gallery" this machine was rebuilt as a Bf 109G-12 and was with JG 106 at some time. This book is from years ago, but I've never seen anything that corrects or refutes that information.

That's correct ... W.Nr.19344 is mentioned in "Werknummern - und Durchführungsliste" of firm Blohm & Voss from 08.May 1944, in list for "Nachrüstung des 300 l Zusatzbehälters in Bf 109G 12 Schulflugzeug" from July/ August 1944 and in "Fernschreiben Bf 109G 12 Einbau - Reichweiten" from 04.January 1945 (standing in Stolp - Reitz) again.

Dear Jim and Rasmussen, thank you!

So it became a trainer aircraft later.

Andrey
