Thanks for those highly interesting pictures, Waldo pepper. IMHO, we are looking at Fw 190 A-8's from Stab and I./JG 110 destroyed 14 April 1945 at Altenburg. Those pics were unknown to me so far.

With a small correction: according to the US Signal Corps captions, those shots were taken 16 April 1945.

just have a look at the log roads. That´s how a completed log road was to look like (sand and earth on the logs to crete a smooth area for taxying).

Hi all,
the picture FW 190 wrecks May 45.jpg seems to me a Fw 190 trainer! The cockpit frame is clear visible. They have been converted from single seater to double seater in Altenburg. best regards, starmountain
