Grave of Karl Heinz Klemm

Hello,

i found a nearly hidden tombstone at the graveyard of Gross Groenau , close to Luebeck (Germany) attached a photo of it - any idea what happened to this poor fellow ? Hornstorf must be a little town close to Wismar if i am right, maybe he was based at Luebeck Blankensee in 1944, could not find any hint in the internet up to now.

Thank's in advance

Thomas

Re: Grave of Karl Heinz Klemm

Thomas,

My apologies if you have already been to this website, but the Volksbund Deutsche Kriegsgräberfürsorge e.V. says:

Re: Grave of Karl Heinz Klemm

Hi Larry,

thank you for your post, look's like Feldwebel and pilot Karl Heinz Klemm will stay an unsolved case. My guessing is, that he died in an accident, March 1944 should have been a more or less save place at that vicinity.

Anyway, i was surprised to find his grave there beside the funeral of my father, my wife accidentally picked up some flowers growing wild there to put them on my fathers coffin ...

Thank you again

Thomas

Re: Grave of Karl Heinz Klemm

Hi Matti,

thank you very much for this fresh information, a real good research in my opinion! I am only wondering, why he was buried in Groß Groenau after his accident .
This place is so small and disregardful, that it will be extremely special to find out the reason why this happened there.

Best regards and thank you

Thomas
