What was a Versehrtenkompanie?
Hi all
I have an 'attestation' document produced by the '4. Versehrtenkompanie, Gross - Hamburg' on 6th December 1945. The document confirms the service, promotions and awards of a Luftwaffe officer who lost his Soldbuch at the close of the war. I would be grateful if anyone can explain the role of this organisation and translate its name - I think it literally means 'disabled company' but is it better translated 'veterans'? Any help will be much appreciated.

Re: What was a Versehrtenkompanie?
You have it right - Disabled Company, i.e., company of disabled soldiers prior to their discharge or release from military service. Note the date. He may have been hospitalized from April/May 1945 to around that date (6 Dec 45).
