JG 2 Volume 4 - 1942

Hello,

I am very proud to announce the release of the Band 4 (volume 4) of the JG 2 chronicle.

This volume has been, as the preceding ones, translated in German by my friend Hans G. Berger, professional translator and former Staffelkapitän in JG 1… which ensures the quality of his knowledge on the subject.
This book covers in depth the Richthofen Geschwader missions against the RAF and the USAAF in France as well as in North-Africa.

thank you for the message. Actually, we only have plans to go futher with the French and German edition since the English one was not successfull. We were surprised about this relative disinterest face to this fascinating unit.

Hi Erik thank you for your reply, and congratulations for bringing us a superb series of books on JG2, and other titles.
I'm quite amazed the English edition failed to generate the sales it should have,
JG2 with its Richthofen past and numerous personalities such as Wick, Hahn, Machold and the like would have prompted more interest!

PS. Could you tell me Erik why the German edition for 1940 is spread over two volumes in comparison to the English and French titles? Is there more photographic material.

Hi Steve,

thank you for the message and the kind words on this series on JG 2. Sorry for my late answer but I was "over-worked" and had to lay down a little bit the history-hobby.
This series will be my last chronicle. Up to other ones to publish the missing chronicles of "forgotten" units like JG 2. But their task will be hard if they haven't met the veterans. As far as I know, from JG 2, they must not be over ten since Paul Gassmann passed away a few weeks ago.

Yes, face to the amount of new stuff (mainly photos and accounts), I had to split the volume 1 of the French and English editions in two for the German one.

Erik,
Excellent work on the JG 2 volumes.

Is the additional material included in the German editions going to be included in the later volumes of the French editions? Perhaps an addenda volume (in French or German) with just the additional German material?
