kaki3152 is an unknown quantity at this point
Unknown P-51 Mustang 15thAF

This picture is from the 450th BG Website. It shows a NMF P-51B/C with its tail completely sheared off. There seems to be a red(?) band visible on the tail, which would make this a 332nd FG A/C. Looks like a horrendous taxing accident. Can anyone identify the A/C?

The link to the site is http://www.450thbg.com/real/miscella...aircraft.shtml

Re: Unknown P-51 Mustang 15thAF

Hello,
The link has a section that shows pictures of four P51's, three could be of the same aircraft, in one there are aircen poseing in front. Perhaps if they could be Identified one may be the pilot, then the aircraft just may be identified too.
The fourth is tail striped and coded "CM".
There is a name (Gus COMAS ) the person who provided the pictures also so may be if you contacted him as well he may know more ?
In the section under SGT. GUS COMAS in which he is pictured in front of the nose section of a "Visiting" P51 - could be the same one. The a/c details are to be seen in the picture, so if it could be enhanced/enlarged perhaps the serial number may come to light ?

Alex
