He111H-5 W.Nr 4019 lost 8/9.5.41 KG27.
Hi could anybody confirm whether Lt.Dieter Stahle's a/c and crew were from 9/KG27. Walter Waiss in his Chronik Boelcke-Archiv band III pg.64 records this loss as being from 2/KG27 coded 1G+MK W.Nr 4019, whereas in Nigel Parker's Luftwaffe Crash Archive vol.8 pg.943 gives 9/KG27 and 1G+MT?
Any help would be appreciated, I see Parker attributes this 2 staffel code as coming from the GQM loss returns! Best regs, Steve. |

Steve,
the GQM report clearly shows I./KG 27 and 1G+MK. Regards, Norbert |

Re: He111H-5 W.Nr 4019 lost 8/9.5.41 KG27.
Thank you Norbert, this is what I have also.
According to Luftwaffe Crash Archive this a/c sported a large M on one wing, where the link with 9/KG27 comes from is not mentioned, but could also be for 1G+MK as per GQM list! Best regs, Steve. |
