Re: Is this part of a Messerschmitt?

Hi,
It s the engine badge for a DB600, DB601, DB603, and DB605...

Basically, all DB engines had it...so you can not conclude which specific aircraft it is from.

Contact me via PM when you can.

Hello lowesguy,

Thank you for posting your interesting collectable. If the numerals stamped inside of the DB emblem are indeed a Motornummer, they fit in nicely as being a DB 605 A-1. Following are a few nearby known Motornummern from my database.

A-1 78127
A-1 78220
A-1 78220
A-1 78246
A-1 78467
A-1 78481
A-1 78481
A-1 78622
A-1 78838
A-1 78855 (yours)
A-1 79092
A-1 79710
A-1 79857

Re: Is this part of a Messerschmitt?

Just for a better understanding:
The production code commences with 9-600 which would lead me to believe this belonging to a DB 600. Was the code 9-600 valid for all subsequent variants, i.e. DB 601, DB 603, DB 605 etc.?

Regards

RolandF
