Rescued Heinkel He 115 crew
Any idea of whether rescued Hauptmann Herbert Vader, StaKa of 1./406 whose He 115 was shot down over the PQ 17 convoy is still alive? The same question for Uffz. Karl "Konny" Arabin, pilot of another He 115 and his observer Obit zur See Karl-Hermann Burmeister who rescued Vader and his two crew members. If any of them are alive had would they be contacted?
Thanks for any assistance and information! Angleshigh |

Re: Rescued Heinkel He 115 crew
I think the name is Vater not Vader & highly unlikely he or the others are alive. I do have photos if the rescue

Re: Rescued Heinkel He 115 crew
Thanks Chris:
Yes, you are correct in that it is Vater (my mistake in typing too fast)! Would like to see the photos of the rescue as I am doing an illustration of the event. Any info helps to insure accuracy so please contact me! Best, Angleshigh |
