Sea Hurricane AF953 etc.

Hi guys

I've recently seen a picture of AF953 aboard the carrier Avenger, circa June 1942 - possibly for trials. Do we know the serials of the Hurricanes embarked for the PQ18 convoy (September 1942)?

Cheers
Brian

Re: Sea Hurricane AF953 etc.

Brian;

Writing this mostly to say hiya after a long time with any communications. As you know, HMS Avenger had about four months remaining to her at that time, and unfortunately, the Royal Navy did not have a policy of off loading records on a regular basis, and thus the only records remaining generally come from pilot logbooks of pilots transferred prior to the sinking or the occasional record that made it ashore some other way.

I do have rosters of the two squadrons if needed.

Mark
