ORIGINAL GRAVE IN KHARKOV

I was wondering if anyone might be able to help interpret some symbols on my uncle's original grave site from 1943 Kharkov.

1) What is that symbol just before his first name, Friedrich ?

2) Underneath his name is something like: 2 3/11?

3) And the symbols in front of his birth date and date of death?

Thanks

Re: ORIGINAL GRAVE IN KHARKOV

2.) I'd say it's ... 2.F/11 (or better: 2.(F)/11 - an reconnaissance unit).
3.) The symbol in front of the birth day is an "star" --- the symbol for birth, the other is an "cross" --- the symbol for death.

Greetings

Yes. Thank you. He was part of that reconnaisnce unit when his JU-88 went down.

Any ideas about that symbol just before his first name? It looks like some diamonds.

Yeah

I just looked at the photo I have of the graves of his crew members of the JU-88.....I don't see those "diamonds" before any of their names for some reason.

My uncle is on the far left.
