Ofw Otto Meyer
Ofw Otto Meyer of 14.(Eis.)/KG 55 was awarded the RK on 29.02.44.
He is not even mentionned by Brütting. Does anyone know why he received this award, his career seems little documented? Thanks in advance. |

Re: Ofw Otto Meyer
Possibly for number of missions flown - 300+
There is some info on him in the career summaries at ww2.dk and the Kracker Luftwaffe Archive. Cheers |

Re: Ofw Otto Meyer
There is quite a bit on him in Kaiser's book. Joined 9./KG 55 on 20 Apr 42, soon became one of the best pilots, 300 missions in 13 months, wounded 15 Jun 43 but with the help of his crew managed to belly land back at base. EP 28 Sep 42, DK 28 Apr 43, RK 29 Feb 44...I think the reasons why he got the RK are clear!
