AR 234 (8/KG76) missions Berlin 29.4.1945

Gents,

Can anyone shed any light on flight 169 on 29.4.1945? Can not make out the street name in Berlin.

Straslandstraße?

The owner of the Leistungsbuch was a member of 8/KG 76 at the time.

Thanks in advance
Ian

LOL....just posted it and looked at the scan.....it's Saarlandstraße in Berlin. It was known as that from 1935 until 1947 apparently....now called Stresemannstraße.

Interesting he was flying Do 217 with HS293 from Istres to Anzio and Nettuno January/February 1944......that wasn't KG 76.....need to fathom that out as well.

Looks like he was also III/KG 100 flying Do 217.

His LS records sinkings on 26 and 29.1.1944.

On 29th HMS Spartan was sunk along with SS Samual Huntington...both I believe were around 7000 Brt and sunk by Hs 293 but Handelsschiff is mentioned so I presume SS Samual Huntington.

26.1.1944 is probably Transporter John Banyard (7191 BRT)
15.2.1944 is probably Liberty-Schiff Fort St. Nicolas (7154 BRT)? Reported sunk by U-410.

With a bit of googling now I know the location on this particular date "Each pilot was assigned to attack a street in the vicinity of the Reichs Chancellery. My objective was Stresemannstrasse."

Of course then it was Saarlandstraße.....would be pretty hectic around that time I guess!

Any further information regarding the 10 flights in the Ar 234? This would help add to the story of this a/c type, thanks in advance, Chris
