He 114 Data

I am looking for info on the operations and losses of the HE 114 during WW II by the Luftwaffe. I know this was a rare bird 98 made 3 to Spain, 14 to Sweden, and 29+ to Rumania. I know that some were used by Raiders Atlantis-2, Widder-1, and Pinguin-2. Also the loss section in the luftwaffe over Norway site lists several lost or damaged in accidents. I understand that Auk. Gp (SEE)125 used some in the Baltic in 1941 and Black Sea in 1942. Does anyone have anymore info? thanks in advance.

Re: He 114 Data

Hi James,
1./906 also used the aircraft. An example of it's/there employment is:

29/10/39 - U-bootsaufklärung

0645 – 0845 He 114 “A” western area, landing in Bug
0650 – 0835 “H”

0700 – 0910 “S4+XH” eastern area
0700 – 1025 “F”

1005 – 1200 “S4+XH” western area, landing in Bug
1020 – 1220 “S4+ZH”

1040 – 1225 “E” eastern area
1030 – 1230 “B”

1400 – 1545 “A” eastern area
1400 – 1530 “F”

Unfortunately WNr. are rarely used in the KTBs I have for 906. I also seem to remeber reference to 114s in the KTB for Stab./906 (which looked after elements of 196, 406 and 706)

I also have a loss (80%) for a 3./906 He 114A (2344) on 22/10/39 but I have yet to confirm this.

Hope this is of some help
Regards

Adam

Hi Adam

I was pleased to see your entry for the He 114 data.

I am putting together a list of all known He 114 W/nrs together with Stkz and Kennung.

I would be most grateful if you could add any extra details from your records on KTBs

Thanks

Regards

Tom Willis
