Re: Crashed Ju88 16-4-41
Gomm & Curnow got what they thought was a He 111 at 2250 hrs in Exminster area. The following night they got another He 111 SW of Portland 0220 hrs. John Cunningham got two the first night and one the following night. Foreman has all these victories the same night which contradicts the 604 Sqn combat reports. A check of the F540 would help but Adriano is the expert on Gomm

Re: Crashed Ju88 16-4-41
WET255,
It is not clear if you are writting a book (kind of War Diary) of Nº 604 Squadron? IF so, I am one of those who would like to see such masterpiece like Dr. Jochen Prien did his masterpiece of JG 53...or other several authors. Chris Goss is indeed THE Reference onto the subject...although several other authors and Historians may be of Assistance as well (There are KG 1 Historians, KG 100 Historians, KG 77 Historians here...) In my case, I have been helped by dozens and dozens (from this Board and others) regarding specifically the late Wing Commander Gomm's activities whilst a Flight Lieutenant (then) with this Squadron. I can be of assistance onto your project. Guess you will find quite a number of "brothers" here... Adriano |

Re: Crashed Ju88 16-4-41
Thats very kind indeed and yes I find them a good bunch. I normally write screen plays which is where my main income comes from, Amongst many other shows I created a TV series in 1995/6 called 'Silent Witness' which is still going Im glad to say and that keeps the wolf from the door. I also write crime fiction which does okay. This means i get time to write about stuff that interests me like WW1 and WW2. My father was in the RAF for 30 years and I was indoctrinated from an early age and never stopped enjoying it. Ive done one on the Battle of Britain pilots "The Fallen Few" which I did with a couple of friends and which I really enjoyed and another about the Red Baron, "Called Under the Guns of the Red Baron". Once again with friends. Most of the rest have been sportsman who where killed in WW1 and WW2. Never written a squadron history (well for WW2) so looking forward to writing it. Nigel
