I noted the following at the time
Heinkel He 111 P-2, KgrzbV He 111 cr 11.1.1942 at FlPl Palermo (80% dam) due to engine trouble, no casualties, (plate found on wreck parts in Lake Garda area, Italy)

Strange case, if this plate is really the main plate for the plane, nd so the Wn is right, this plane hv to be an P-2 model lost in Italy.

11 1 42 T Kgrzbv HE111 H Palermo BR MSCH HE111P-2 1627 80 %

The P-2 1627 couldn't match with this plate as it was produced in sept.40 by...Arado not Dornier

Wn 1627 do not match with any F models, such early models hv been used by transportation units till 1943, nd hv flown a lot above Ukrain...

Plate is not main plate, but part plate. The Part Number 8-111.6001-09 sais so.
The 8-111.6001-09 is part group for Motor Cowlings etc. ("Motorverkleidung" or associated cooler cowlings etc.) Easily transferrable with, say new motor, to another plane. I can not say if part applies to Jumo 211 or DB series engines (my guess is to a P model as discussed before on TOCH! forum (Uwe Benkel TOCH! 16.04.2019)
