C-47A 42-100441 lost CBI 12/44

I would be most grateful for any details on the service and loss of:

C-47A-65-DL
42-100441
1st Troop Carrier Squadron
443rd Troop Carrier Group

Lost in the CBI, December 1944.

Unfortunately, there is a gap in the 16mm microfilm 1st TCS history files held by the National Archives.

Thanks,
David Isby

Hmm tough one that, even the MACR database doesn't have anything on it.

Strange enough this site claims it was destroyed on 18 September 1944?

Found the serial here but the site is somewhat chaotic:
http://www.dc3history.org/cns/cn18903_19086.htm
Again 18 Sept. 1944 is mentioned as well as some event in Dec '43 which makes little sense to me.

Are you sure it's the right serial nr?

Thanks.

The December 1943 event was its in-theatre arrival in Karachi.

I think it was likely that the aircraft was one damaged on a forward strip (location not mentioned) on 18 September with no casualties mentioned and cannibalized or destoyed by December.
