Ofw Franz Eyrich 5./KG 40

The above, a BM, was awarded the EP 21 Sep 42 and the DKiG 14 Dec 42. Does anyone know anything about him? According to Matti, he was not a casualty

Re: Ofw Franz Eyrich 5./KG 40

Hello Chris,
I have a BM Franz Eyrich who served in KG 2. He might be the same.
11.05.40: 2./KG 2: Do 17 Z, no details. Fw. Franz Eyrich POW wounded, later released.
26.03.41: 2./KG 2: Do 17 Z-1, 3449. Ofw. Franz Eyrich unhurt.
Sources: BoF (Cornwell) and KG 2 (Balke).

Regards,
Patrick

Patrick: Sounds like the same man who must have moved across to 5./KG 2 and gets a mention in the back of Balke's book as getting EP and DKiG. Thanks
