Hurricane crash Zavrtnico 25.-27. August 1944
Hello,
I search for an loss of an Hurricane attack German shipping near that city. (Jugoslavia) An Siebel-Fähre LF 126 sunk after Bombing/Gunfire. Hurricane would be shoot down by 20mm Vierling AAF. Thanks for help! h.

Hello,
During the attack on shipping in Zavratnica bay on 27 August 1944, Hurricane Mk.IV KZ243 "I" of 6 Sqn was hit by flak. It crashed into a hilltop at the exit from the bay, exploded and scattered over the sea. Sqn/Ldr James H. Brown DSO DFC perished in the crash. Some remains of the plane were found and ehxavated in October 1989. Boris
