Hs126 lost May 13 over Holland?

A question about a rather detailed loss report which still does not seem to be correct:

This is what you can find in the list of losses over Holland in May 1940 by Kol Brongers for May 13, province Noord-Brabant:
“Eine Hs 126 B-1 der 3.(H)/14 Pz (bei der 9.Panzerdivision) ging im holländischen Raum verloren, vermutlich durch Flak. Der Beobachter Lt Hanganz wurde getötet, der Flugzeugführer Olt Dahinden wurde verwundet aus holländischer Gefangenschaft befreit". Source is Weiss, which is always very reliable.

The names seem to be OK, but I have troubles with the unit. 3.(H)/14 served according the official order of battle the 7th PzDiv in southern Belgium. The 9th PzDiv, operating in Brabant, was served by 4.(H)/23.

Can anybody clarify? Is it the date, the names, the location or the unit that is wrong?

Pieter

Re: Hs126 lost May 13 over Holland?

Hi,
the Luftwaffe loss list (Freiburg) gives following info : date = 15/05/40, unit = 3.(H)/12 , place of incident = unknown. Both Oblt. Dahinden (F), Ltn. Haganz (B) returned to the unit. Plane = Hs 126, 60% loss. I fear there is no Wast document to confirm.
Hope this helps
Peter

Re: Hs126 lost May 13 over Holland?

Hi Peter,

Thanks a lot, this clarifies it.
The new question I have now is where this unit, 3.(H)/12, was operating on May 15. Strange enough this unit does not appear in the order of battle of the AufklärungsGruppen attached to army units. 1.(H)/12 (Army Group A, 16 Armee, XXIII Armeekorps) and 2.(H)/12 (Army Group A, 12 Armee, VI Armeekorps) I have, but not 3.(H)/12.

Does anybody have details?

Pieter

Qoute;
"3.(H)/12
1940 Westfeldzug, jetzt 3.(H)/12(Pz.) für 9.Pz.- und 1.Kav. Div. über Holland, Belgien, Nordfrankreich(Hs 126)."
