Hello,
I,m looking for pictures of Halifax W-1180 78Sqn. This plane crashed on 6 Augutus 1942 at Posterholt-Holland They who died buried at Jonkerbos War Cemetery. Mission was Bochum-Germany. Michel |

Is the following of any interest Halifax W1180 Information Type Halifax Serial Number W1180 X1D EY-? Squadron 78 Operation Bochum Dates 5th/6th August 1942 Further Information Airborne 2155 5Aug42 from Middleton St.George. Cause of loss not established. Crashed at Sint Odili_nberg (Limburg), 5 km S of Roermond, Holland. Those killed were taken for burial at Venlo. Their graves are now located in the Jonkerbos War Cemetery, Nijmegen. Sgt J.C.Stevens PoW Sgt A.Greenacre PoW P/O R.Shipley PoW Sgt D.Willoughby PoW Sgt J.W.Clarke KIA Sgt H.M.Gall RAAF KIA Sgt J.R.Gilbert RCAF KIA Sgt A.Greenacre was interned in Camps 8B/344, PoW No.25631 with Sgt J.C.Stevens, PoW No.25119 and Sgt D.Willoughby, PoW No.25123. P/O R.Shipley in Camps 8B/344/L3, PoW No.25122. " |
